New Toy

I took advantage of my tax refund yesterday and came home with this...

Hello lover.
I am sitting on the couch as I write this, the girls happily playing with some of the new things acquired at the recent birthday party. My floor is covered in little plastic fishes, fake food, and a cash register. Oh, and dust. We'll have to look past the dust.
I was planning on taking the kiddos to a local fave, The Snake Farm, but last night's cold front is making it pretty windy outside so there may be a change of plans. There's also this. I know big sis would dig the dinosaur and rock exhibits, but I'm not so sure the little one would enjoy it seeing as she wouldn't be allowed to touch or drool on anything! *sigh* We'll see what the day brings...
I've been sewing a lot lately, working on baby things to put in the etsy shop, and I hope to get some posted sometime soon. I've also been spending far too much time browsing blogs of quilters and wanting to pick up another new hobby. I can hear my dh groaning now. But have you seen some of the cool handiwork out there?? Amazing! Here's one of my fave new reads: Simplify by Camille Roskelley. She is incredible.
Okay - time for mama to get off the new laptop and tend to my little chickies. They're starting to destroy things... More later!

Four

Tomorrow my baby girl will turn the big 4.

Eeesh. That sounds so grown up!

Stay tuned for a Letter to my Daughter, my first on this blog. The others still remain in the archives of my first blog, knittingirl, which has been a little - um - neglected since lollipop kids came around.

I still can't believe how quickly she turned from a baby into a little girl.

Wow. I have to go get the tissues ready...

*sigh*

of relief!

When I began designing children's things and opened my shop not too long ago, I knew nothing of the CPSIA legislation, so imagine my shock when I began hearing about it and reading the requirements for makers of children's items! Third party testing for my handmade items?? By February 10, 2009?? Impossible!

Thank goodness the CPSC listened to the cries of the many crafters across the U.S. Yesterday, they voted to suspend testing requirements for another year until the details are worked out - phew! Read it here for more info...

And please... continue to support handmade and write your legislator to keep it alive!!

This Is Me

So... I just started this blog and I thought at first that it'd just be my craft blog, to chronicle the things I make for my shop.
But, it turns out that lollipop kids is about so much more than my crafting. It's about my crazy life with my two lollipop kiddos. It's about the early morning wake-ups and the late-night sewing madness. It's about the joys and frustrations of being a full-time employee, mommy, wife, and crafter. It's about me.
So here I am... stay tuned!

In love, love, love

I am currently obsessed with all things valentine, especially the line at Target. Have you seen it? *sigh* I heart Target. Seriously. Look at my latest finds...

That little owl completes me. I can't tell you how happy it makes me to drink coffee from this mug!

And speaking of Valentine's Day... I have another apron ready for the shop...

Stop by and see me on etsy!

V-Day goodies

I live in a great little town that I love, but I've found that it lacks a good place to go and get unique children's gifts... so I decided to just make my own and name it after my kiddos love for sweets on a stick. I give you... Lollipop Kids!
I've been working on these items for my etsy store and now I can share them with you.
